Ah. I quite liked Ashen Stars myself; seemed it was really trying to emulate "planet of the week" TV SF.

Was it just flipping through NBA that inspired you to get it after all, or had you been hearing things?

I found Ashen Stars' writing a bit too impenetrable to be enjoyable, and I've never been a big fan of camp.

NBA wasn't on my radar at all until I ran across a physical copy in Louisville. Random encounter, flipped through, decided to give Gumshoe a second chance.
