Been meaning to share this one for a while: The Night Kitchen. It's a Seattle restaurant that runs 6pm-9am. No, that's not a typo.
Where the hell were you guys when I was hanging out with the old Louisville LARP crew? Pure evil genius, I tell you.
Bet your ass this'll be showing up in games I run.

Little question

Re: Little question
Date: 2011-01-23 01:44 pm (UTC)Now, under the right atmospheric conditions (high humidity and others I don't know right now), the shockwave of a supersonic round will compress the air enough to cause micro-condensation (i.e. a contrail). See also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prandtl-Glauert_singularity. I've personally seen that effect on .308 rounds outbound, and those generally clock in at 2,600 to 2,800 fps.
Re: Little question
Date: 2011-01-24 03:19 am (UTC)Basically I'm trying to find something more lethal than that which I can shoot from the hip. But I GOTTA be able to see the bullet's path to do it. It's kind of a magic trick, but a cool one.

I wonder sometimes if .44 rimfire or some of those other old west cartridges were slow and big (easy to see?) and well-suited for such shooting.
