"Does this look familiar? Do you know what it is? Neither do I. I made it last night in my sleep."
- Gune, Titan A.E.
I tend not to remember more than fleeting fragments of my dreams, and those only rarely. Friday night, my subconscious served up a shard of an idea: rehydrating dried cranberries by soaking them in lime juice. I mentioned this to
elalyr yesterday morning and we filled one of her small prep bowls with a quarter-cup or so of Simply Limeade and a handful of Craisins. We then went out to get groceries and promptly forgot about the project.
Just now, we were assembling lunch and rediscovered the bowl in the refrigerator. Strained of the solids, the juice is quite a bit sweeter than normal, but not cloyingly so. The cranberries themselves are fairly crisp with a decent amount of citrus tartness. This ain't bad.
... and I have no idea where that came from or what the rest of the recipe was.
